China-based solar module manufacturer Seraphim Energy Group announced last week that it would be investing $829 million in the Huadu district within China’s Guangdong province. Over the next two years the company will construct its 10-gigawatt (GW) photovoltaic module manufacturing facility in two phases. Each phase will add 5GW of capacity as Seraphim plans to begin trial production in late 2025 and full production in 2026. This project provides a significant boost to the district’s green energy industry and brings new job opportunity by creating 2,600 jobs.

AI Innovation in Indonesia


New investment drives Indonesia’s AI technology adoption from Surakarta City.

A collaborative initiative between technology company Nvidia and telecommunications provider Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison plans to bring a significant boost to Indonesia’s digital economy. A $200 million artificial intelligence center is set to begin construction this year in Central Java’s eastern city of Surakarta. The goal of this project is to grow the region’s tech talent and infrastructure, providing advanced AI computing power to regional businesses and driving innovation in the country. For California-based Nvidia this partnership aids in the company’s growth in Southeast Asia, while its Blackwell chip architecture technology supports strengthening Indosat’s telecommunications infrastructure.

FUJIFILM’s Investment Increases in NC

With a total investment of $3.2 billion, FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies continues to expand its Large-Scale Cell Culture CMDO Business in Holly Springs, North Carolina, located on the southwestern outskirts of metro Raleigh between Apex and Fuquay-Varina. Last week, the company announced it would build upon the $2 billion expansion investment made in 2021. As a result of the additional $1.9 billion funding, FUJIFILM adds a new cell culture facility which will include eight 20,000-liter mammalian cell culture bioreactors for bulk drug substance. The addition allows for the company to house a number of new projects and, once complete, will make the site one of the largest cell culture biopharmaceutical CDMO facilities in North America. By 2031, the project will create a total of 1,400 new jobs in the region.
